Summary: Premium prices for an average at best stay. This hotel looks great from the outside and has nice public areas and is in a great location, but that’s where it ends. The rooms aren’t anywhere near as modern as I’d hoped for, the showers were luke warm when the hotel was booked (improved on the last day when half the hotel had checked out), the rooms were musty and took two days to air out (Memphis is humid all year around and you have to keep air running), I could see through the towel made to be the shower mat, the hair dryers were not properly cleaned, and the breakfast eggs would have left my plate with a light breeze. None of these items would have been a big deal if they weren’t charging 30 percent more than the other side of town. There is simply more bang for your buck in Germantown for the same experience. I booked two rooms that were equally mediocre and the other shower was even worse and the room even mustier. I was trying to treat my family to a nicer spot than the alternatives and instead paid extra for absolutely nothing. I feel very ripped off by this place. Not because it was bad, but because it simply doesn’t live up to its own pricing.

Summary: The hotel was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The only thing that I can say that I didn’t like about it was the pillows. They were awful, but other than that, the beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. Loved that they had shampoo soap and conditioner in the shower is ready for you.

Summary: Staying at this Hampton Inn was nearly perfection! It was quiet, non-smoking and the staff was very friendly. My room was very clean and cozy. The only complaint about my room was my having to unplug the refrigerator because it was rattling so loud to where I couldn’t stand it anymore. Lastly, on my second day there, I had the breakfast in the lobby. It was okay. Lots of choices. Only I immediately became sick upon reentering my room and felt bad for the remainder of the day. Imagine taking a 4 hour trip home and having to stop to vomit every 20 miles. I loved the stay, but I probably won’t have the breakfast again.

Summary: The property is looking a little worn. The “breakfast” leaves a lot to be desired; the scrambled eggs were inedible while the make your own waffles were great! Potatoes were soggy and we didn’t try the breakfast meats and biscuits and gravy. There was yogurt ( yay) and a nice selection of breads/bagels. The coffee was pretty bad ( although they tried with canisters of dark, medium and decaf. The deal breaker: I watched a staff member wipe a serving spoon with the same cloth she wiped the counter and put it back. One more thing: we spilled coffee in our bed. I thought housekeeping would have changed the linens but merely made the bed.
We will stay there again as it is the closest hotel to our family in Memphis.
